2019 Genesis G70 intake stealth shroud installed

The 2019–2021 Genesis G70 responds well to airflow improvements, especially at the front of the car. That is why we designed the PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS Intake Stealth Shrouds specifically for these model years.

The factory intake area leaves room for hot air to recirculate and limits how much fresh air reaches the airbox. Our intake shrouds help guide outside air toward the intake while keeping a clean, OEM-style appearance.

Each shroud follows the shape of the factory mounting points for a proper fit. Installation is straightforward and does not require permanent modifications. Once installed, the engine bay keeps a factory look with improved airflow where it matters.

These shrouds are designed for owners who want subtle performance-focused upgrades without sacrificing fitment or reliability. They pair well with aftermarket intakes or stock airboxes.

Open Mesh Sensor Brackets for the 2022 Genesis G70 by PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS

Opening Up the Front of the Genesis G70 with PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS Open Mesh Sensor Brackets

By: PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS

2022 Genesis G70 front bumper with open mesh look

Many Genesis G70 owners want the open mesh look on the front bumper, but the factory sensors sit behind a solid grille. Once you open that area, the sensors lose their support and no longer stay in the correct position. We built the new PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS Open Mesh Sensor Brackets to solve this problem.

These brackets hold the factory sensors in the right location while you run a clean open mesh style. You keep the front of the car open and aggressive, and you keep the function of the OEM sensors at the same time.

Each bracket mounts to existing points on the bumper and uses the factory sensor clips. There is no cutting or trimming on the bumper itself. The brackets match the factory angle so the sensors read the road just like they do in the stock grille.

With these installed, you can run a full open mesh front end and keep your safety systems working. The car gets a more open and sporty look while still feeling factory in day to day driving.

New Color Options for PNPC Intake Shrouds – Make Your G70 Match Your Style

The PNPC intake shrouds already fix one of the G70’s biggest problems: they feed the intakes with cooler, fresher air instead of letting your engine bay cook everything. But a lot of you kept asking the same follow-up question:

“Can I get them in a different color… or something a little louder?”

Now you can. 🎨

Our non-LED intake shrouds now feature a full color selection tool right on the product page, letting you choose from a wide range of filament colors when you order.

How the New Color Picker Works

When you go to the non-LED intake shroud product page, you’ll see a “Choose a color” section above the Add to Cart button.

  • Each color is shown as a square swatch instead of a dropdown.
  • Click any swatch and it’ll highlight as your Selected color.
  • That color choice is saved to your order so we print your shrouds in that exact color.

No extra variations, no complicated menus. Just click the color you want and check out.

Match Your Build, Not Just Your Paint

These color options aren’t about pretending to be exact OEM paint codes (plastics and paint will never 100% match). They’re about:

  • Matching your accent theme (calipers, DRLs, badges, lug nuts, etc.)
  • Choosing a color that photographs well for social media and features
  • Making your engine bay look as intentional as the rest of your build

If you’re all business, go Black, Grey, Silver, or Ivory Tint. If you’re running wild-colored DRLs or a bright wrap, grab a fluorescent, purple, or blue to tie everything together.

A Few Notes About Color

  • Screens vs. real life: Colors may look slightly different in person depending on lighting and monitor calibration.
  • Finish: These are printed using high-quality filament, so the finish is a clean, satin-style plastic, not glossy paint.
  • Durability: The shrouds are still printed with performance and heat resistance in mind first — color is just the fun part.

How to Order

  1. Head to the non-LED PNPC Intake Shrouds product page.
  2. Scroll to the “Choose a color” section.
  3. Click the swatch that matches your vibe.
  4. Add to cart and check out like normal.

That’s it. Your shrouds will be made in the color you picked and shipped out ready to drop into your G70.

Final Thoughts

The whole idea behind PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS has always been simple: make parts that actually work, and make them fun to run.

The new color selection for the intake shrouds is just another way to let you put your own fingerprint under the hood.

If you grab a set in a wild color, tag @plugnplaycustoms when you post your engine bay — your build might be the next one featured.

New G70 Bumper Repair Options | PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS Bumper Guide and Tab Fix

We just added two new products for Genesis G70 owners who are dealing with broken bumper tabs or misaligned corners. These small parts can save a lot of time and money compared to replacing the entire bumper.

The first is our G70 Bumper Guide Repair Kit. It replaces the factory guide piece that sits behind the bumper corner and helps it lock into place. Many G70s develop loose bumper sides over time, especially after minor impacts or repeated removals. Our repair kit brings that tight, factory fitment back.

The second option is our G70 Bumper Tab Fix STL File. This is a digital file you can print yourself if you have access to a 3D printer. It’s designed to replace the small plastic tabs that often snap off near the bumper corners. Perfect for DIY owners or anyone who wants a quick, low-cost fix at home.

Both options were designed from real G70 parts to ensure a perfect fit. Whether you prefer a ready-to-install repair kit or a printable DIY fix, PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS has you covered.

Why We Created the Genesis G70 AGS/AAF Delete Kit | Solving the U1008 Code for Intake Shroud Installs

We built the PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS AGS/AAF Delete Kit for the 2019 and newer Genesis G70 after running into a common problem. While testing our upcoming intake shrouds, the car triggered a check engine light with code U1008 every time we disconnected the factory active grille shutters.

The G70 uses two systems at the front of the car: the Active Grille Shutters (AGS) and Active Air Flaps (AAF). These parts open and close to control airflow and cooling. They work well on a stock setup, but they limit airflow when installing performance upgrades like intakes or intercoolers.

When we unplugged the factory motors, the ECU lost communication and threw the U1008 fault. To solve this, we created the PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS AGS/AAF Delete Kit. It keeps the original factory module connected and sends the same signal the flaps normally provide. This setup prevents warning lights and keeps the ECU fully satisfied.

Installing the kit takes only a few minutes. Mount the OEM module inside our housing, connect it to the factory plug, and secure the harness. You do not need to cut or modify any wires. Once installed, the car runs clean with no fault codes or check engine light.

We designed this kit to work perfectly with the PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS Intake Shrouds, now available for preorder. It gives you the extra space and airflow you need while keeping your G70’s electronics completely functional.

Got My Headlight Replaced Under Warranty and Found Out Genesis Quietly Updated the Design

I recently noticed moisture starting to build up inside one of my Genesis G70 headlights. At first it just looked like normal fog, but after a few days it wouldn’t clear up. Since the car is still under warranty, I decided to take it in to get checked. The service department confirmed the housing had a small leak and replaced the entire headlight under warranty.

From the outside, the new headlight looks identical to the original one. Same finish, same shape, same part number on the lens. But while I was upgrading my DRLs to the new Purple DRLs from PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS, I got curious and decided to take a closer look inside the new housing. That’s when I noticed Genesis actually updated the desiccant pack design.

The desiccant pack is that small moisture absorber that twists out from the back of the headlight. It’s easy to miss unless you’re looking for it. The new one uses a different layout and material that’s designed to absorb more humidity and keep condensation from forming inside the housing.

It’s one of those quiet improvements you’d never notice unless you were swapping parts like I was. If you ever see moisture in your headlights, it’s worth having them checked under warranty. And if you’re already replacing them, it’s the perfect time to upgrade your look with PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS DRLs.

Final Test Results Are In: PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS Intake Shrouds for the 2022+ Genesis G70

Final Update: Testing Results Are In for Our G70 Intake Shroud (or Snorkel)!

When we first introduced our custom-designed intake shroud (or snorkel) for the 2022 and newer Genesis G70, it was built based on community feedback, real-world frustrations, and the need for more consistent performance during daily driving and spirited runs. Now that development is complete, we put it to the test.

We ran back-to-back JB4 data logs comparing the OEM intake with the new PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS intake shroud (or snorkel). Testing covered:

  • Heat soak performance (5-minute idle followed by low-speed cruise)
  • 2nd gear pulls (2000 to 6000 RPM)
  • Launch control acceleration (0 to 70 mph)
  • Regular cruising in various ambient conditions

Heat Soak Recovery

Even in hotter conditions (96°F vs 87°F), the PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS intake shroud (or snorkel) delivered:

  • Lower starting intake air temperatures (IAT)
  • Faster cooldown after heat soak
  • More stable temps during low-speed cruising

The OEM intake remained heat-soaked longer after stops. In contrast, the new shroud returned to normal temps nearly twice as fast.

2nd Gear Pull (2000 to 6000 RPM)

Both setups were tested under the same road and weather conditions.

  • OEM intake: Showed a sharp IAT spike and moderate boost
  • PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS intake shroud (or snorkel): Maintained lower IAT and smoother, more consistent boost

Cooler air means denser air, which leads to stronger and more efficient combustion. The data proves this upgrade helps your G70 breathe better under load.

Launch Control Acceleration

While our logs did not include GPS speed data to calculate exact 0 to 60 times, we reviewed IAT and boost behavior from a dig.

  • Lower initial IAT with the PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS intake shroud (or snorkel)
  • Boost ramped up quicker and stayed more consistent

This helps reduce performance loss from heat soak during repeated launches or track use.

Cruising and Daily Driving

Regular driving logs showed a smaller but noticeable improvement in IAT consistency once the car was up to speed. While both setups performed similarly in light driving, the PLUGNPLAYCUSTOMS intake shroud (or snorkel) held steadier temps and recovered faster in stop-and-go traffic.

Final Thoughts

This is the final update on this product. After dozens of logs across real-world scenarios, the results are clear:

  • Faster heat soak recovery
  • Lower IAT under load
  • More stable boost behavior
  • Better cooling at launch

Use code V1SHROUDS to get $50 off the original version used in testing.

Thank you to everyone who voted, tested, and gave feedback throughout this project. Your input helped shape the final design. We are now shifting focus to new product development and we can’t wait to share what’s next.

New Intake Shroud in the Works for the 2022+ Genesis G70. You Voted, We Listened

Here’s What’s Going On

Lately, I’ve been working on a new intake shroud design for the 2022+ Genesis G70 to help reduce heat soak and bring cooler air directly to the intake box.

As most of you know, the stock setup tends to run 20-25F hotter than ambient temp. Especially when sitting at lights or even in light traffic.

Two Designs, One Winner

I posted a poll online to let you vote on which style you preferred, and here are the results:

Design B (Second Image) got the most votes so it will officially be going into development.

What I’m Testing Right Now

I’m currently logging:

  • Ambient temp vs Intake Air Temps (IAT)
  • Temperature drop over time with and without airflow
  • Heat retention during idle and post-run heat soak
  • Also oil temp, coolant temp and trans temp (but those are for a different project)

This data will help me validate the effectiveness of the new shroud before final production.

Coming soon

Once I finish testing, I’ll be:

  • 3D printing the first prototype
  • Test Fitting it on my G70
  • Sharing install pics, results, and pre-order details right here on the blog

Stay in the Loop

Make sure to follow @plugnplaycustoms on IG, TikTok, Reddit and Facebook for live updates, sneak peeks, and launch announcements.

And if you missed the vote, don’t worry. We still have a lot to figure out. Would you prefer a sequential light for the shrouds, different color modes or no lights at all?

Thank you for the support as always!
